About Us

“Music on the Mountain” is the brainchild of Sheffield HS alum Art Lane, who found himself the Sheffield Music Booster president after helping to rejuvenate the school marching band. Inspired by the local Drum and Bugle Corps shows of the past and fueled by the energy of Johnsonburg “A Blast in the Burg,” Art formed a committee to bring the first DCI Open Class event to Wolverine Mountain on July 24, 2015.

The event was well received by our community, visiting corps found a most hospitable welcome in the Allegheny National Forest, we couldn’t be stopped by a pandemic, and now 2024 finds “Music on the Mountain” bigger and better than ever! We expect 9 corps to perform at War Memorial field on Saturday, July 27th, and we hope to see you there!

There is an army of individuals, organizations, and businesses that works year-round to keep the marching arts alive in our beautiful valley. We can always use volunteers, sponsors, and spectators, so we welcome you to join us as we continue to make history!
